Welcome from Dean Judy Kim

judy kim photoWelcome to the UC San Diego Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs (GEPA)! I assumed the role of Interim Dean on July 1, 2024 and was appointed the permanent Dean one year later. I am honored to continue the long tradition of excellence in support of our graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

Amidst the rapidly evolving landscape for graduate education and postdoctoral training, UC San Diego remains steadfast in our mission to be a student-centered, research-focused, and service-oriented public university. As part of this mission, we support the training of graduate and professional students as well as postdoctoral scholars as they advance in their careers. Our alumni are tomorrow’s leaders that contribute to the transformation of lives and society.

The wellness of students and postdoctoral scholars is also a top priority. We strive to create welcoming and inclusive communities where individuals can excel in all their endeavors. With campus partners, we help build skills and awareness that empower our vibrant and dynamic communities for long-term success.

We would love to hear from you. Whether you are a current or prospective graduate student, a postdoctoral scholar, a valued staff member, one of our esteemed faculty, a successful UC San Diego alumnus, a generous financial donor, an elected official, or simply an interested friend, I invite you to connect with us. Let us know how we can best serve our awesome communities - we look forward to hearing from you!

Go Tritons!
