Graduate Intern Program
The Graduate Division is there at every step in a graduate student’s career, helping students navigate their path from admission to graduation and beyond. Working in collaboration with faculty, staff and students, the Graduate Division guides today’s scholars on their upward trajectory to becoming tomorrow’s leaders. We've partenered with key resources on campus to create job opportunities for current master's and doctoral students, in the form of part time internships. In addition to their area specific duties, the interns participate in a year-long leadership development course, facilitated by the Graduate Division.
Graduate Division Student Affairs Interns
The Graduate Division Student Affairs Interns support the full scope of the unit activities and events including: outreach and recruitment, graduate preparation programs for prospective students, professional development for current graduate students, and marketing and communications geared toward prospective applicants and current students. In addition, a graduate life intern supports orientation activities for new graduate students, manages various administrative aspects of Grad Life, and serves as a liaison to the Graduate and Professional Student Association.
Climate & Community Interns
In partnership with the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the Graduate Climate and Community Intern team implements inclusive and interdisciplinary programming for the graduate student community at UC San Diego. The primary goals are to strengthen the sense of community and increase the sense of belonging amongst graduate students at UC San Diego. These interns work at each of the seven Campus Community Centers, and the program has expanded to include an intern at the Undocumented Student Services office.
CAPS Graduate & Professional Well-being Associates
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) has been an integral member of the UCSD community since the late 1960's. CAPS is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS). Its integrative and student-centered services are designed to support students towards their academic success and personal development and well-being while at UC San Diego. The Wellness Peer Education Program is nationally recognized as a model of best practice for empowering students to develop leadership and helping skills. The CAPS Graduate and Professional Well-being Associates support the outreach to programs and students about the services provided by CAPS.
